Buff those trucks to a red as glossy as an apple and get the hoses wound and ready to spray, because the Hershey Volunteer Fire Department opened its revamped doors to the public on Saturday, April 23.
Although the volunteers had been operating out of the facility for several weeks, they were excited to showcase their new and improved home to the public for the first time. The Department invited the entire community to tour and celebrate the new 27,000 square foot building at 21 West Caracas Ave.
The new building still houses the original section constructed in 1928, but also features brand new amenities. Additionally, the property features a commemorative brick walkway located near the flagpoles along the east end of the building.
