Headlining the New Year’s Eve extravaganza is 18-year old singer-songwriter Jacob Whitesides. Hailing from Knoxville, Tennessee, Whitesides began singing and playing guitar at a young age.He broke into mainstream media with his covers of popular songs and videos of his original work. Whitesides’ devoted fans, fondly referred to as Whitesiders, have catapulted his fame to #1 hits on iTunes, and Artist to Watch recognition on Pandora, MTV, and Radio Disney. Whitesides’ fan base reaches across North America, the Philippines, and even to Scandinavia. His “honest, unabashed pop songs” are sure to be a crowd-pleaser this New Year’s Eve.
Also taking the New Year’s Eve stage is Central Pennsylvania rock and roll cover band “All Jacked Up.” The band is a crowd favorite, having performed at this event in the past, and is well-liked for their popular renditions of songs ranging from Katy Perry to Journey. Each band member brings a unique talent to the group, which will share its vibrant rock and roll music with Downtown Hershey to ring in the new year.
If you can tear yourself away from the unbeatable music lineup, there is plenty more to do downtown on New Year’s Eve! First United Methodist Church will offer kids games and refreshments, and the Hershey Story plans to make some noise with “bubble-wrap stomps.” The Hershey’s Products characters will also be making their way through the crowds!
Of course, the long-awaited raising of the 7-foot tall, and nearly 300-pound Hershey’s Kiss replica will culminate at midnight, followed by a fantastic fireworks display. There’s fun for the whole family in Downtown Hershey this New Year’s Eve, so be sure to head downtown to help ring in the new year!
