A First Look at Art on Chocolate Vendors

Art on Chocolate is just around the corner, and this year’s event will be our biggest yet. On May 13 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, more than 130 of the area’s finest artisans and craftsmen will fill Chocolate and Cocoa Avenues and ChocolateTown Square to share their talent with Downtown Hershey! Here’s a sneak peek at some of our unique and exciting artisans!

Olive Press Art

Barbara James, of Olive Press Art, is our 2017 Art on Chocolate featured brand artist. With a degree in Fine Art, and private study under oil painting, watercolor, and sculpture artists, Barbara brings an array of talent to share with all. Her love of the ocean and fascination with nature inspires her colorful and vibrant works, and her artistic “lens” provides a sometimes abstract way of looking at the world around us.

Cabooties

Kelly Barth founded Cabooties in 2014 after struggling to find a happy medium between socks that fell off and shoes that didn’t properly fit on her baby’s feet. Kelly’s uniquely designed footwear is handmade and prevents active toddlers from losing their shoes while running around. The company is committed to “bringing adventures and first steps to babies worldwide through fun and practical footwear.” Cabooties are offered in many different colors and sizes, and the business also sells other baby and toddler accessories.

Ridge Hollow Game Boards

Barb Wagaman-Donough and Bob Donough never would have imagined that their 1986 purchase of an old wooden bread board would lead them on a 31-year adventure of folk art and antique gameboards. Nestled in the studio of their 1800s farmhouse, the couple creates unique, hand-crafted game boards reminiscent of earlier, simpler times. Each board is handpainted on wood. Bob’s appreciation for detail and antique crafts stems from his career as a retired stone mason and skilled woodworker, and together with the original folk art designs of his wife Barb, the two will bring a unique flare to Downtown Hershey!

Art on Chocolate is produced by the Downtown Hershey Association and Hershey-Derry Township Historical Society. We’ll be providing event-day information on featured artists, entertainment, and parking options, as well as road closures and detour routes as we get closer to the event at ArtOnChocolate.com.
