Addressing Micro-Inequities and Micro-Aggressions at All Things Diversity

Now in its second season, Hershey Area All Things Diversity is a free series of programs coordinated by Derry Township and The Hershey Story, The Museum on Chocolate Avenue. This five-part series is a wonderful opportunity for each of us to broaden our intellectual horizons and embrace the diversity that’s right here in our community.

On January 23 from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m., the All Things Diversity series continues with a session on “Addressing Micro-Inequities and Micro-Aggressions.” Dr. Ali Michael, Ph. D., successful author, co-founder and director of the Race Institute for K-12 education, will be the lead speaker. Micro-aggressions are the everyday verbal and nonverbal cues, whether intentional or unintentional, that communicate hostile, derogatory, or negative messages based solely upon their marginalized group membership.

All of the sessions are held on the main level of The Hershey Story, located at 63 West Chocolate Avenue, Hershey. A light dinner and dessert will be provided to attendees. The sessions are free but seating is limited and advance registration is required.

This program is underwritten by Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and College of Medicine, The Hershey Company and Hershey Entertainment and Resorts Company.

Be sure to register to be a part of a wonderful and empowering opportunity for growth and learning! Interested attendees are able to join a waitlist if the registration is closed by clicking on the registration button.
