Fairness and anti-discrimition. Valuing the differences and diversity within our community. This is what the Hershey Area All Things Diversity series is all about. These free programs address a variety of different subjects, helping each of us to broaden our perspectives and learn something new. The educational sessions are organized by Derry Township, the M.S. Hershey Foundation, Derry Township School District, The Hershey Company, Penn State Health, and Hershey Entertainment & Resorts.

On Wednesday, January 15th at 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., Ms. Stalnecker will speak about poverty and available resources in the Hershey community in her The State of Poverty in the Hershey Community presentation. She will also talk about Ruby Payne’s hidden rules of poverty and how they affect our views and judgements of the people in poverty. This event will take place at the Hershey Middle School. About the Presenter

Ms. Stalnecker has been a social worker for nearly 30 years in a variety of jobs, such as a child welfare worker, juvenile probation officer, counselor in alternative education, and a school social worker. At Temple University she earned her Masters in Social Work, and she is currently working on her Doctorate. She is currently the school social worker for Derry Township School District.
