Fairness and anti-discrimition. Valuing the differences and diversity within our community. This is what the Hershey Area All Things Diversity series  is all about. These free programs address a variety of different subjects, helping each of us to broaden our perspectives and learn something new. The educational sessions are organized by Derry Township, The Hershey Story, Derry Township School District, The Hershey Company, Penn State Health, and Hershey Entertainment & Resorts.

September’s session will be held at The Hershey Story, which will feature Dr. Paul Haidet who will be presenting “The Importance of Stories in Understanding Each Other.” This will be held on September 25th from 5:30 – 7:30 pm. This session is currently full, but you can be put on a waiting list by signing up here. 

November’s session will be held on the 13th, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at The Hershey Story as well.  This event will feature Joyce Lukima, Chief Operating Officer for the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape, who will be presenting on understanding boundaries in the era of the Me Too movement. About the Presenters

Dr. Haidet is a general internist, health-services researcher, and educator. His session will explore how powerful stories can be, and how they shape our perspectives of each other. 

Ms. Lukima has worked with victims of violence and sexual assault for 30 years, and now she is focusing her energy on education. She conducts and organizes workshops, training and conferences to provide skill development for professionals’ assisting victims of sexual assault. Her session will delve into the Me Too movement, which is a movement against harassment and sexual assault.
