Art lovers of all ages will gather on Chocolate Avenue Saturday, May 14 for a day devoted to celebrating talented artisans and performers. Art on Chocolate, the second annual fine arts festival, will bring together more than 130 artists and craftsmen along with a variety of food vendors and prime entertainment. This family friendly event also will include children’s art activities, face painting, and local students’ art on display at The Hershey Story, the museum on Chocolate Avenue.
Art on Chocolate will take place from 10 am – 5 pm in the heart of Downtown Hershey between Ridge Road and Cocoa Avenue, and in ChocolateTown Square. Live entertainment will be featured throughout the day in the park at ChocolateTown Square and at Ridge Road. Food and beverage options will be offered in a variety of locations. Take this opportunity to shop downtown at the unique local vendors Hershey has to offer and stop by for fun family activities. Admission to the event is free to the public.
Art on Chocolate will feature unique artists such as Jen’s Turn, owned by Jennifer Tulaney, specializing in functional ceramics created with an extra flair; Dan Hayward Glass, fine stained art; and Gay Lapalucci representing Leaf Me Alone, whimsical ceramic leaves. Other displays will feature Jennifer Kerper Metalsmith, who crafts fine jewelry with unique detail; Scrappy Bags by Wendy Diem, who offers paper art designs; and Nick Duvall of Duvall Leatherwork whose leather art is for everyday use.
Art On Chocolate, sponsored by the Downtown Hershey Association in partnership with the Hershey-Derry Township Historical Society, is the signature kickoff event in a series of Life on Chocolate events to follow in the upcoming season.
