As always, Downtown Hershey is your place to shop, eat, and have fun with the whole family! And this Saturday, August 13, is an extra-special day filled with Second Saturday fun! Throughout the day and into the evening, Chocolatetown Square will be bustling with activities, with many local businesses offering Second Saturday specials.
In the morning be sure to stop by the Farmers Market on Chocolate’s Sweet Corn Festival to pick up some local fruits and vegetables, fresh made bakery treats, and handmade goods. The Farmers Market on Chocolate runs every Saturday from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm and is located behind ChocolateTown Square, in the Hershey Volunteer Fire Company parking lot.
There are many other fun activities scheduled throughout the day. From 8:00 am to 9:00 am, the park hosts two free fitness classes: Pilates in the Park, brought to you by the Derry Township Parks and Recreation Department and Crossfit Gamma in the Park. Bring your kids ages 5-8, for an educational, anti-bullying demonstration between 8:00 am and 9:00 am. Also, be sure to stop by the Derry Township Parks and Recreation Department’s dog adoption, taking place from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm. From 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, the Hershey Story is hosting an art activity in the park. At 1:00 pm, Paint and Create comes to Chocolate Town Square for a BYOB adult paint class.
Finish off your Saturday of fun with Downtown Hershey’s Music on Chocolate. Beginning at 7:00 pm, two local acts, Up Pops the Devil, and The April Skies, hit the Chocolate Town Square stage. This month, Music on Chocolate is partnering with Devon Seafood and Steak to bring us lobster rolls with Old Bay chips, which will be available for purchase. We are also excited to welcome back Troegs Brewery. Additional refreshments will be available from the Vineyard at Hershey. No BYOB, please.
We’ll see you downtown on Saturday and don’t forget to mark your calendars for our next exciting Second Saturday in September.
