The Downtown Hershey Association is excited to bring back our Music on Chocolate summer concert series. The series kicks off this Saturday, June 9. From 7:00 – 10:00 p.m., visitors and residents alike will have the opportunity to gather in ChocolateTown Square and listen to two great bands.
This week, we are excited to share that RFA is back to rock Downtown Hershey! RFA describes themselves as a, “four-piece garage rock and roll band from Philadelphia, PA.” Since coming together during their sophomore year of high school, and eventually growing closer while all attending college in Philadelphia, RFA has released their debut album, two EP’s, a film soundtrack, and embarked on two national tours. Don’t miss your chance to welcome this band back to Hershey and experience their unique music.
Also taking the stage will be The Amy Simpson Band. Early in her career, Simpson had the opportunity to work with a variety of acts touring the U.S. and Europe. Since then, Simpson has released a solo project, “The Amy Simpson Band” and CD “Lipstick Blues.” Her band includes Russ Brookes on guitar, Dan Ruscito on bass, Steve Montresor on drums, and Trent Peetchatka on organ and keys. Be sure to come out this Saturday to experience Simpson and her band’s eclectic vintage soul sound.
What’s a great concert without some tasty local food and beverages? We are pleased to share that Tröegs Independent Brewing, Olivero’s Vineyard, Blazing Swine BBQ, and Fenicci’s of Hershey will offer a variety of options for you to purchase. Bring a blanket or chair and enjoy some drinks, dinner, and ice cream with friends and family.
Music on Chocolate will take place on the second Saturday of each month, June through September, in ChocolateTown Square. The concert series will feature both regional and local acts who are getting national attention. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday!
