Heroes Day in Downtown Hershey

This week in Downtown Hershey, join the American Special Hockey Association for an exciting Hershey Heroes Day event!

On Saturday, May 20 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm, local businesses, civil servants, and community members are coming together to support Central PA’s special needs ice hockey team, the Hershey Heroes. The event will take place in the park at ChocolateTown Square and will feature games, raffles, live entertainment, face painting, snacks, and the opportunity to win a new bike! The event is free and open to the public, and food will be available for purchase from Blazing Swine BBQ.

The team is comprised of players at all ability levels and plays under the American Special Hockey Association, an organization with teams in 50 cities throughout the United States. The Hershey Heroes utilizes the buddy system to match community volunteers with players so that each skater gets one-on-one attention during practice and games. The team will be expanding in the fall and is currently searching for volunteers. For more information or to volunteer, contact Michael Miller, (508) 330-4819 or Seth Mullen, (570) 706-5504.
