The holiday season is in full swing, and there are plenty of events around town to entertain all ages! Check out these upcoming events in and around Downtown Hershey.

Downtown Hershey’s Holiday Celebration

When: December 2, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Where: ChocolateTown Square

On Friday, December 2, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, the Downtown Hershey Association will host Downtown Hershey’s Holiday Celebration in ChocolateTown Square. This exciting event is fun for all ages, and offers a wide array of activities and entertainment for the community. The event features a performance by Milton Hershey School’s New Horizons choral group, free cookies and cocoa, kids crafts, and of course a visit from Santa!

Hersheypark Christmas Candylane

When:  Now through January 1

Where:  Hersheypark

The magic of the holidays comes to life at Hersheypark Christmas Candylane. Enjoy holiday attractions, rides, food and beverages and visit Santa and his reindeer.

Hershey Sweet Lights

When: Now through January 1

Where:  Located minutes from Hersheypark between Route 39 and Sand Beach Road

A winter wonderland awaits at Hershey Sweet Lights, A Holiday Drive-Thru Spectacular. Enjoy nearly 600 illuminated, animated displays from the comfort of your car as you drive through two miles of wooded trails.

Gaither Christmas Homecoming

When: December 1, 7:00 pm

Where: Giant Center

The legendary recording artist will present an exciting celebration, filled with the very best in Christian music, including Gaither’s own multi-award winning group, The Gaither Vocal Band. The roster of talented “friends” taking the stage with Gaither and the Gaither Vocal Band, will include Mark Lowry, The Martins, The Isaacs, Buddy Greene, Charlotte Ritchie, Gene McDonald, and Kevin Williams. This festive evening will feature many classic Christmas favorites for brand new fans and longtime followers alike.

Miracle on 34th Street

When: December 1-3, 7:30 pm

Where: Hershey Area Playhouse

Miracle on 34th Street rounds out Hershey Area Playhouse’s 2016 season. When a nice old man who claims to be Santa Claus is institutionalized as insane, a young lawyer decides to defend him by arguing in court that he is the real thing. Lois Heagy, an experienced actor and director in central Pennsylvania, will join Hershey Area Playhouse for the first time as director of this heartwarming and familiar story.

Gifts of Love Holiday Celebration

When: December 2, 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Where: LivingWell Care – Hershey Wellness Center

Kick off the holidays with local businesses and friends as we gather to celebrate life at our 2nd Annual Holiday Event. There will be free food and refreshments, artwork, jewelry, live entertainment, and healthy holiday gifts.

Hershey Symphony Presents Holiday Spectacular

When: December 3, 2:00 pm

Where: Hershey Theatre

Celebrate the Holidays in December with the Symphony as it shares seasonal favorites and some new goodies. Pianist Ami Hatori, the 2016 Hershey Symphony Young Artist Competition winner, brings us the Beethoven concerto movement that won her the prize, and both the Hershey Festival Strings and Powerhouse Strings will make cameo appearances.

Visit with Santa at the Hershey Gardens

When: December 3 and December 10, 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Where: Hershey Gardens Conservatory

Kids can share their Christmas wishes with Santa as they visit with Kris Kringle in the Milton & Catherine Hershey Conservatory. Come experience the beauty of the Hershey Gardens as winter approaches! Event is included with the price of admission; members are free.

Little Elves Workshop

When:  Weekends in December and December 26-30, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Where:  The Hershey Story, The Museum on Chocolate Avenue

Kids will have some holiday fun as they journey through the Little Elves Workshop and use chocolate clay, icing, and ribbon to fashion a unique ornament to use as a gift or keepsake. $5 per ornament; free for museum Family Membership holders.

Snowball Saturday

When:  December 3, December 10, and December 17, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Where:  The Hershey Story, The Museum on Chocolate Avenue

Family indoor snowball fights are the centerpiece of this holiday event! Kids can visit with Coco the Bear and The Hershey Story’s very own friendly snowman, as well as enjoy storytime. Chocolate Lab participants can make an edible snowball in a Marshmallow Mischief class. Snowball fights will take place in the lobby at 11 am, 12:15 pm, and 1:45 pm and last approximately 15 minutes.

Straight No Chaser

When: December 4, 2:30 pm

Where: Hershey Theatre

Atlantic Records recording group Straight No Chaser has announced early details of the “I’ll Have Another…World Tour.” The North American leg celebrates the 20th anniversary of the a cappella group’s formation in 1996 and first show at Indiana University.

The “I’ll Have Another…World Tour” follows Straight No Chaser’s most recent release, 2015’s “THE NEW OLD FASHIONED.” The album sees the renowned group bringing their unique touch and inimitable vocal style to a stunning range of contemporary standards spanning The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face” and Hozier’s “Take Me To Church” to Radiohead’s “Creep” and Bob Dylan’s tender “Make You Feel My Love.” “THE NEW OLD FASHIONED” further features a number of Straight No Chaser’s incomparable medleys, including “Beggin’/Counting Stars” (blending favorites from Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons and One Republic) and “On The Road Again/I Play The Road” (originally by Willie Nelson and Zac Brown Band, respectively).

Elf the Musical

When: December 6-8, 7:30 pm

Where: Hershey Theatre

ELF The Musical is the hilarious tale of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole. Unaware that he is actually human, Buddy’s enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father, discover his true identity, and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas. This modern day Christmas classic is sure to make everyone embrace their inner ELF.

Mannheim Steamroller Christmas

When: December 9, 8:00 pm

Where: Hershey Theatre

MANNHEIM STEAMROLLER CHRISTMAS by Chip Davis has been America’s favorite holiday tradition for over 30 years! Grammy Award winner Chip Davis has created a show that features the beloved Christmas music of Mannheim Steamroller along with dazzling multimedia effects performed in an intimate setting. Experience the magic as the spirit of the season comes alive with the signature sound of Mannheim Steamroller.  Their holiday CDs have become synonymous with Christmas and continue to occupy top spots on Billboard’s Seasonal Charts every year!

The Piano Guys

When: December 10, 3:00 pm

Where: Hershey Theatre

Back by popular demand are the ever-popular The Piano Guys. Hailing from Utah, The Piano Guys are four dads who became an Internet sensation by way of their immensely successful series of strikingly original self-made music videos. They’ve made more than 50 videos since early 2011, including their hit, an innovative multi-handed version of One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful” and a gorgeous reinvention of the hit song “Let It Go” from Disney’s Frozen. It’s the Guys’ highly original blend of classical music with pop that has really been the cause of an Internet phenomenon and has led to more than 500 million YouTube views. It is their endearing personalities along with their obvious will to inspire young and old, which keeps the fans coming back for more.

Holiday Open House and Train Display

When: December 15, 6:00 – 8:00 pm

Where: Hershey-Derry Township Historical Society

The Hershey-Derry Township Historical Society’s Holiday Open House will include the annual train display as well as a performance by the Hershey Community Chorus. The train display will be available through December, Monday through Friday and every other Saturday from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Trans Siberian Orchestra

When: December 16, 3:30 pm

Where: Giant Center

Paul O’Neill launched a project in 1996 that over the past 20 years has become a critically-acclaimed, multi-platinum, musical powerhouse: Trans-Siberian Orchestra. The progressive rock group’s record-setting “rock theater” tours sell out venues year after year and have cemented TSO’s status as a must-attend, multi-generational, holiday tradition. Now, TSO’s creator/lyricist/composer O’Neill is proud to announce that in its Platinum anniversary year, the group is bringing back its treasured tale, “The Ghosts of Christmas Eve,” to 61 cities across North America beginning on November 17th and concluding, after 105 shows, with special New Year’s Eve performances in Seattle and Cleveland.

Hershey Theatre Presents the Nutcracker

Build-A-T Workshop

When: December 17, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Where: AACA Museum

Get the kids back to basics without the use of a smart device and let them ‘make’ a take-home wooden Ford Model T! Participants will take home their very own handcrafted model T that you build together at the AACA Museum. You can even stay and spend the day to enjoy all the vehicles and exhibits the AACA Museum has to offer. It will make the perfect gift for that special someone, or a great addition to the holiday dinner table! Advance registration is required, and the cost is $65.
