Significant renovations are underway at the Chocolate Avenue Grill. After years of planning and anticipation, the time has come for some exciting changes at one of Downtown Hershey’s great restaurants. Although the restaurant has been open during renovations, it will close on March 1 for a period of time to allow the project to progress.
The focus point of the expansion is a U-shaped bar and the addition of TVs around it to create a welcoming and urban feel. At the new bar, customers will be able to choose their favorites from the delicious menu and enjoy them while watching their favorite teams. The bar options will dive deeper into the handcrafted category. Customers can expect drinks with high quality spirits, mixers and garnishes along with a nice beer and wine selection.
Jessica Demopoulos, co-owner of Chocolate Avenue Grill and Smoked Bar & Grill says, “Tim and I together have spent over 60 years working in Hershey area restaurants. Before we purchased our property, we saw our downtown had a need for restaurants and retail. We took a huge leap of faith purchasing our building but did so knowing people of our community would support us. Once we opened, we continued to make improvements to our property as our business grew. As progress was made with the development of Hershey Towne Square and zoning code improvements, we knew it was time to complete our final project, a new bar and a new look. We continue to be grateful to be a part of this awesome community and hope to see everyone downtown for years to come.”
On March 1, the Chocolate Avenue Grill will close so the contractor can complete the bar addition and interior renovations. Jess and Tim hope to reopen the week of April 8. What does this mean for you? Better stop in soon to get Jess’s Favorite Salad in the Whole World because it will be a long month without it. Don’t worry though, we hear it will be back and better than ever when the Grill reopens this spring.
