Introducing David Lynch from Torchbearer Sauces

Torchbearer SaucesDavid, the sauce man at local dinner parties, was best known for his spicy Italian sauce that guests put on everything from pasta to chicken dinners. With the encouragement of his friends and family, David partnered with his best friend from college to sell this gourmet sauce and other creations. Their Habanero Tarnation Sauce, made with a blend of habanero peppers, fruits, and other veggies, is another creation distinctly different from vinegar based hot sauces.

Torchbearer Sauces now offers more than 20 different sauces–ranging  from a traditional hot sauce to a mango papaya dessert sauce, and a barbecue wing sauce. The team at Torchbearer Sauces travels to over 78 festivals and seasonal farmers markets annually where patrons flock to the family-tested sauces. Be sure to stop by to add a little spice to your culinary experiences.

Describe the moment you knew you needed to sell your products.

With a preference for spicy flavors over the traditional hot sauce made with a vinegar, my family and I created saultry sauces with habanero peppers blended with fruits and vegetables. With push from family and friends, we decided to make a business out of our hobby!

What is the one thing you wish you knew before starting your own business?

We should stick to festivals when selling products. Since we started the business, attending festivals and farmers markets provides about 70 percent of our business.

How would you sell hot cocoa on the beach in Florida?

I would do a cold pressed cocoa like 3J’s Coffee! For a unique drink, I would make it gourmet with added spices.

Name three people (famous or otherwise) you would love to have as customers?

Bruce Campbell, Oprah, My Grandfather

What product do you believe to be your prized item?

Oh My Garlic sauce! It’s our best seller!

Describe one especially difficult challenge in your life and how you have grown from it.

My Aunt’s passing away inspired me to work harder and live healthier.

If you were the new item in the market what would you be?

I would probably be nachos!
