Downtown Hershey loved it last year, and this year it’s back and better than ever: the Townie Family Picnic! On Wednesday, July 19 at 5:30 pm, join us in The Meadows at the corner of Homestead Road and East Granada Avenue for a night of food, family, friends, and fun!
Join your friends and neighbors for yard games while kids bounce around in the bounce house and get their faces painted! And don’t forget to check out some of the wide selection of food, provided by businesses such as Woo De La Kitchen, Nooners Pizza, and Annie’s Ice Cream. In addition to Olivero’s Vineyard selling wine, Mount Gretna Brewery and Tattered Flag are coming together to offer a selection of beer, so no need for BYOB!
“We were thrilled with the success of last year’s first annual Townie Family Picnic” said coordinator Ann Gardiner, “and are looking forward to year two.”
“There is something for everyone, including a variety of lawn games and kids’ activities, along with some of the area’s best foods and beverages, added coordinator Colleen Kadel “It’s the type of event that all ages can enjoy, and a great way to bring the community together to celebrate summer in this wonderful town of ours!”
Pack your picnic blankets and lawn chairs, because this is a community event that you certainly don’t want to miss!
About the Townies
The Hershey Townies is a volunteer army of people–who live or work anywhere in the Hershey area–interested in having fun in the process of promoting Downtown Hershey. Townies help spread the word about downtown happenings, volunteer at events, and proudly patronize local businesses. It is a way for anyone to play a part in building Downtown Hershey and be “in the know” about what’s happening. If you like fun and live or work in the Hershey area, we hope you consider becoming a Townie.
